A lovely family is looking for an Au Pair for their 6 year old
Area: Vredehoek, Cape Town
Child's Age: Girl - 6 years old (Grade 1 - 2026)
About the child: The little girl is a lively, chatty 6-year-old who loves the outdoors, arts, and imaginative play. She thrives on connection and needs an Au Pair who enjoys getting involved -playing, exploring, and engaging fully with her. She’s learning emotional regulation and social boundaries, so a patient, gentle, and loving approach is essential. Reliability, warmth, and flexibility is very important to the family

Duties: Organise and facilitate playdates and fun, stimulating activities. Participate actively in play, outings, and creative or outdoor time. Assist with homework or projects where needed. Prepare healthy snacks or meals. Run small errands - e.g. collecting meds, light shopping, or appointments. Help with bath time, dinner prep, and tidying up after playtime. Keep the childs play areas neat and organized by the end of each day. Future transport for extra murals (horse-riding/gymnastics) may be required
Special Requirements: Friendly, down-to-earth, patient, nurturing, and engaging personality. Someone dynamic who will genuinely love our daughter and become part of our family. Proactive in planning outings and activities. Willing to join in swimming, beach trips, and park adventures. Commitment of at least 1 year (ideally longer). Reliable, responsible, open communicator. Own car & valid driver’s license. Non-smoker, no drug use. Availability for ad-hoc babysitting, overnights, weekends
Start Date & Contract Term: 5th January – 12-month renewable contract
Salary: R8 500 per month (Gross, before deductions) + AA rates
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
