Automation Technician at Mondi Group

The Technician Automation is responsible to ensure application, programming, modifications, system configurations, maintaining and troubleshooting and provide support to the Chemical Plant team for process and control challengers.

Profile Requirements:

• Light current / N6 Diploma in Instrumentation and Process Control
• Preference: B Tech / diploma / S4 Instrumentation

Experience:

• 2 to 5 years or better experience as an Instrumentation Artisan.
• Good understanding of the DCS & & Industrial safety e.g. Hazardous Areas, BMS, SIS etc.
• Experience within the Pulp & Paper industry will be beneficial
• Recognition for prior learning will be considered/given
• Must have track record of shutdown and project execution.
• Broad instrumentation experience in the following areas: Process control, DCS,   
• Profibus and automation systems
• Computer literacy including SAP, Excel, MS word, P6 (basic) and others
• Required to do Instrument Engineer & DCS Mill wide standby duties
• Gas turbine experience will be advantageous.

Key Performance Areas:

• Application software programming, modifications, system configuration, operator station setup and troubleshooting.
• Execution, compliance & optimize of planned maintenance in the BU
• Adherence to Mondi Technical Standards
• Execute & optimize maintenance strategies on equipment/process level
• Partake in Root cause failure analysis and closeout
• Achieve Maintenance KPI targets
• Register all work on SAP, with minimal backlog
• Short term planning as well as planning for the annual shut;
• Accurate and detailed reporting
• Excellent technical, systematic & logical problem solving abilities.
• Proven ability to reverse engineer DCS application software i.e. good understanding of logic gates.
• Ability to understand electrical & instrument wiring schematic drawings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a team environment
• Must be able to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
• Proven systematic approach within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Profibus PA & DP experience & understanding.
