Banksman REF: IVP-ENG-2516 at Ivanhoe Mines

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
• Onsetter or Banksman Certificate
• Boiler making phase 1 certificate
• IRCA Training for Construction Supervisors Certificate

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• 3 Years’ experience in a similar role

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Examining Safety devices
• Shaft examinations
• Housekeeping of shaft bank area
• Safety of personnel in shaft bank area and in the shaft
• Signaling Winding Engine Driver, Stage Operators, shaft bottom personnel
• Examining telephones, lights and signaling devices
• Hoisting of men and equipment
• Hoisting of rock disposal
• Record-keeping of Shaft log book
• Rigging and slinging of equipment
• Report any anomalies and incidents to the shaft Foreman
