Barista at Octotel

Job Purpose:

• To assist in preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light snacks while providing excellent customer service in a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and more.
• Create and serve delicious smoothies and other specialty drinks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee and preparation areas, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Monitor stock levels, perform stock takes, and assist in ordering supplies when needed.
• Greet customers with a friendly and approachable attitude, taking orders and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Operate and maintain coffee machines and other equipment.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as serving pastries or other light menu items.
• Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
• Work collaboratively with team members to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
• Be proactive in identifying and addressing any operational or customer service issues.
• Support other general duties as required to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

• Matric Certificate (preferred).
• At least 3 years of barista experience.
• A passion for coffee, customer service, and creating positive experiences for customers.
• Outgoing, fun personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and take initiative when needed.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Willing to travel to Brooklyn Cape Town, 7am - 4pm - Monday to Friday.
