Barman - Rustenburg at Royal Bafokeng Nation (RBN)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet and escort guests/customers to their tables. Take customer orders, carefully listening to ensure they are accurate. Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar, restaurant, and hotel guests/customer requests. Interact with customers and serve snacks with drinks. Assist the restaurant with serving customers where required.
• Communicate order details to the appropriate Kitchen staff. Serve food and beverage orders. Check glasses and bar utensils for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems. Deliver and collect bill payments and balance cash receipts to record sales.
• Provide excellent guests/customers service to guests. Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety practices when preparing beverage orders. Stock replenishment. Conduct daily opening and closing stock take for the bar.
• Ensure internal transfer requisition is completed and authorised for all transfers to/from the bar. Liaise with supply chain/ procurement to restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Post matric qualification /Higher Certificate in Food/ Beverage.
• 2 years’ experience as a Bartender, or a similar role in a well-established restaurant or full-service hotel. Hands-on experience with a cash register and ordering information system.

COMPETENCIES:

•  In-depth knowledge of standard operating procedures within the hospitality industry. Sound knowledge of food safety and quality regulations and legislation. In-depth knowledge of mixology for traditional and creative cocktails.
• Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings. In-depth knowledge of cash register and ordering information systems. Proficient knowledge and application of MS Office, Word. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
