BAS IT Auditor (Data Skills) at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)

JOB PURPOSE

Experienced IT auditor that will primarily be responsible for the execution of data analytics and coaching of junior staff within an Audit environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Identifying opportunities for the use of data analytics to achieve Audit outcomes

• Take full responsibility for the data analytics lifecycle by tracking requests, managing timelines and budgets and communication of progress

• Consult with audit teams to define data analytics and assurance requirements

• Providing guidance to Audit teams in demonstrating the value of using data analytics as part of  internal control design evaluation and effectiveness testing using data analytics.

• Source and analyse data from relevant source systems

• Develop scripts for data mining

• Analyse outcomes to identify trends, exceptions and areas for further investigation or enquiry in support of the Audit objectives

• Evaluating information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts

• Ensure quality of execution and reporting of data analysis

• Assist with the preparation of summary reports by applying data visualisation techniques.

• Contribute to the improvement and innovation of the audit process to improve overall efficiency and added value.

• Oversight and coaching of junior data specialists

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology

• Certifications in data analytics and visualisation tools

• Prior experience in an Audit environment

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Data Analyst in an Audit environment

• Knowledge of database design structures and query languages

• Extract data from ERP systems and transformation

• Experience with data analytical tools in performing complex data analytics

• Financial and accounting knowledge

• Experience in overseeing and coaching of junior team members.

• Report writing and presenting findings

KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Technical knowledge

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and SQL Server.

• Working experience in Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau or similar data visualisation tools

• Experience in Alteryx, Python or similar tools

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft spreadsheets, Word and Powerpoint or similar tools
