Beauty Designer at Talented Recruitment Specialists

• We are seeking a creative and trend-driven Beauty Designer to join a leading supplier to South Africa’s major fashion retail chains.
• The successful candidate will play a key role in developing innovative beauty and fragrance packaging concepts, conducting trend research, creating customer-focused designs, and managing the design process from concept through to production.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Trend research for merchandisers buying trip
• Local competitive shop
• Photographing overseas samples
• Trend presentation preparation, Assisting the merchandiser with new season customer presentation
• Create Die lines for specific products both in Fragrances & Beauty
• Creating customer design for packaging and componentry for customers.
• Ensuring attention to detail is followed as per merchant brief through to design concept
• Brief the factories over email, Ensure correct files are sent to the Factories for sample & production completing.
• Reviewing first off samples against CAD, ensuring finishes, packaging outlines are correct.
• Communication between customer & supplier on design/brief/colour/artwork
• Returning & monitoring of overseas samples not used by customers
• Filing of overseas samples/showing samples/meeting samples
• Prepare copies of updated customer cad overviews for each customer to accompany customer production delivery reports (From Coordinator) each copy spiral bound together with header page
• Rails cleaned at the end of every season ie: fit samples, duplicate samples, old rail samples - team effort
• Cad overview to be emailed to factories confirming they have received all the briefs

Requirements: 

• Higher National Diploma/ Degree/HND in fashion and textile design
• 3-5 years relevant fashion house experience
• Creative flair, including an eye for colour
• Commercial awareness and business orientation;
• Communication, including presentation skills;
• Self-confidence;
• Attention to detail
• Time management.
• Coordination: Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
• Visual Colour Discrimination: The ability to match or detect differences between colours, including shades of colour and brightness.
• Visualization: The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
• Technical skills required:
• Pattern developing and cutting
• Ability to design for the target market.
• Conceptualizing: Taking ideas and moving them to a finished product
• Design: Knowledge of design techniques
• Fine Arts Knowledge of the theory and techniques required for composing and producing.
