BI Developer at Global Logistics Internet

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role will be to maintain the current MySQL and PostgresSQL warehouses, as well as adding to them as required. You will be required to build and maintain existing ETL’s to the data warehouse using SQL and PHP, as well as develop new data pipelines.

We are looking to move onto new technologies and this role will be involved in bringing the current tech stack into the future.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

BI Developer/Data Engineer Duties

• Design, develop and maintain existing and new MYSQL databases
• Build and maintain existing ETL’s to the data warehouse using SQL and PHP to ensure the data is updated correctly and in the most efficient manner
• Help design and implement new technologies.
• Performance tuning SQL queries to ensure all routines run as fast and efficiently as possible
• Responsible for the organisation’s Management Information landscape to provide metrics, reports, dashboards, and analysis needed to drive the business.

Skills and Qualifications

• 4 + years’ experience with BI development and/or BI Analysis
• Relevant numerate bachelor’s degree, Computer Science, Finance or Business preferred
• Real world understanding of data processing and storage
• Experience in creating stored procedure and advanced query writing (MySQL,PostgreSQL)
• 4 + years SQL experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, VBA knowledge an advantage
• Proven ability using visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, looker.
• Excellent knowledge of MySQL and PostgreSQL platforms
• Linux command line knowledge
• Sound understanding of database principles and relational table structures

Bonus if you have

• Experience in application design and development with at least one of the following languages: Python, PHP
• Experience with Airflow
• Data Architecture Development experience
