Boilermaker - Middleburg at Omnia (Pty) LTD

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Qualified Artisan                              

Experience

• 3 year demonstrated experience in the role as a Boilermaker
• 3 years demonstrated knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Proven experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers etc.)

Duties

Reading blueprints:

• Follow drawings / blueprints to manufacture tanks and structures
• Align structures or plate sections to assemble boiler frame tanks or vats, following blueprints

Casting pieces and bending them into shape:

• Ensure the section edges fit properly and bolt or weld them together.
• Conduct an assessment before starting manufacturing
• Regular inspection and maintenance of tanks and structures

Regularly check the tanks and structures for leaks and weak spots :

• Hazard identification

Understand the hazards associated with handling hazardous materials and enforce the safe handling of these materials on the plant

• Compliance with relevant idustry regulations
• Occupational Health and Safety Act
