Bookkeeper at Ignition Group

We are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team. Ideal candidates will possess a fun, positive, energetic attitude and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. If your skills incorporate taking books to trial balance or balance sheet, this will be an excellent opportunity for you.

The position includes posting information to accounting software from source documents, as well as reconciling accounts to ensure their accuracy and produces monthly management accounts.

The detail:

Purchases and Suppliers

• Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management.
• Maintain fixed asset registers.
• Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner.
• Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices.

Payments, Invoicing and Creditors

• Pay any authorized debt as it comes due for payment.
• Issue invoices to customers.
• Ensure that accounts receivables are collected on time.
• Record cash receipts and make bank deposits.

Reconciliation and Management Accounts

• Conduct a monthly bank reconciliation of every bank account.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheets account to ensure their accuracy.
• Maintain the petty cash reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly management accounts in the prescribed format.
• Reconcile and submit VAT returns on a monthly basis.
• Reconcile and submit PAYE returns on a monthly basis.

Reporting and Audits

• Prepare the audit file for the external auditors.
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
• Maintain the chart of accounts.
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
• Maintain accurate stock reports.
• Collate payroll information in a timely manner.
• Produce weekly financial reports as required by management.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
