    Brand Manager

    About the job

    The Brand Manager is responsible for ensuring that the products/services that fall under their domain resonate with current and potential customers. The Brand Manager monitors marketing trends and keeps a close eye on competitive products/services in the marketplace. The Brand Manager supervises, manages and maintains all media, marketing and brand related tasks for the brand. Sound knowledge and experience is required in order to take ownership and accountability for the organisation’s media and marketing functions and activities.

    The Brand Manager provides support to the Head of Marketing and guides the Media Manager.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the Head of Marketing with strategy development and implementation for the SAOTA brand, as well as periodic reporting to Board of Directors
    • Compile and monitor spend for the brand within the Marketing Budget
    • Manage all events and exhibitions SAOTA participates in
    • Lead relationship building relating to strategic partnerships for the brand
    • Oversee and manage the SAOTA website
    • Oversee, maintain, and manage the corporate identity
    • Provide strategic input into and manage brand collateral (Books, Brochures, etc.)
    • Research and report on identified topics

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Brand Manager role
    • Relevant Marketing Degree
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Knowledge of the following is beneficial:
    • o Adobe, WordPress, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Deltek Vision and Microsoft Power BI, Google Analytics, Mailchimp

    KEY CHARACTERISTICS

    The role requires the ability to work in a high performance, professional environment, where there are constant learning opportunities. The successful applicant will need to be able to work under pressure, have strong attention to detail/accuracy, be organised, proactive and self-disciplined. This position forms part of a larger team which the incumbent will be responsible for contributing to as a team player, while also assuming areas of individual responsibility.
