Business Analyst at Praesignis

Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the operationalisation of the Finance Data Strategy by driving practical implementation of data governance disciplines using Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Fabric. You will play a key role in enabling the Finance Data Architecture Standardisation Programme.

Key objectives:

• Embed data management practices aligned with the Group Data Governance Framework and Operating Standards.
• Support Finance data adoption onto Microsoft Purview | Fabric as the central governance platform.
• Ensure seamless data integration with existing finance processes via the Microsoft Purview | Fabric platform/s.
• Assist with addressing data management gaps within the Finance Landscape as identified during the data maturity assessments and ensure alignment with the agreed Medallion Architecture principles.

Scope of Work

Focus on hands-on execution and adoption of Purview | Fabric capabilities across Finance, in as far as the following data management outcomes:

Data Catalogue

• Capture and classify metadata for all Finance data assets, leverage existing base.
• Ensure business process alignment, where required as part of data replatforming.
• Maintain documentation and communicate updates to stakeholders.

Business Glossary

• Define and maintain standardised Finance terminology, leverage existing base.
• Align glossary terms with Group standards and ensure accessibility for all Finance users.

Data Lineage

• Document end to end data flows | source to target mappings across Finance systems, though the adoption of native Purview capability.
• Validate lineage for accuracy and practicality and resolve ambiguities.

Data Quality (DQ) Management

• Identify & perform critical data quality checks, by adopting native Purview | Fabric capabilities.
• Document DQ processes and drive adoption through change management.
• Ensure cross-functional team effort in building a platform where DQ can be monitored.

Data & Information Security

• Ensure adherence to group data security & privacy to Finance data assets.
• Maintain governance artifacts and evidence compliance.
• Ensure RACI roles between Finance (data consumers/providers) and finance technology teams.

Data Reconciliation

• Support Finance control processes by ensuring data consistency across sources.
• Document reconciliation checks and advance input to data control framework.

Delivery Requirements

• Use existing metadata | DQ and documentation where available, align new assets to current standards.

Expected Outcomes

• Operationalisation of Purview | Fabric environment integrated for Finance data assets.
• Improved data maturity for Finance data management capabilities.
• Delivery of core disciplines (catalogue, glossary, lineage, quality, security) aligned with Medallion Architecture principles.
