    Business Development and Marketing Assistant

    Purpose:                                                                                         

    • Responsible for providing day to day support to the Business Development and Marketing team in the form of assisting with events as well as undertaking general administration.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services environment
    • Completed Diploma in Marketing or related field

    Event Administration:

    • Plan, organize and implement internal and external events from start to finish.
    • Prepare detailed project plans and budgets for events.
    • Create and manage invitations and other supporting marketing collateral aligned to the Bowmans style guide this includes briefing external agency on banner designs for invitations. 
    • Manage events as they are happening and solve problems as they arise. 
    • Provide post event analysis.
    • Update events-related information on the firm’s client database, InterAction.
    • Keep up with industry trends and venues. 
    • Represent the firm at industry and social events.

    Supplier Management:

    • Source and evaluate new suppliers, ensuring that they comply with the firm’s BEE criteria.
    • Manage suppliers’ output and their service delivery.
    • Ensure suppliers’ payments are up to date.

    General Administration:

    • Assist with the general operational and administrative requirements within the Business Development and Marketing team which includes among other tasks: arranging regular team meetings; managing the team diary for reminders on the monthly marketing report, when team members are out of the office etc.
    • Assist with sourcing and ordering marketing collateral and distribution to offices as needed.
    • Manage client gift orders.
    • Manage the business card orders. 
    • Format and distribute internal and external newsflashes and newsletters using the firm’s email distribution system, Tikit
    • Maintain the records related to directory research results. These include: a lawyer rankings summary for the accolades infographic and a practice and lawyer rankings and quotes document for use in pitches, CVs, brochures and on the website.

    Finance Administration:

    • Assist with the annual budgeting process.
    • Process supplier invoices for payment.

    Relationship Building:

    • Develop and maintain relationships with all levels of staff as a trusted resource.
    • Maintain strong working relationships with and have open and transparent communication between all members of the Business Development team.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to ensure quality of service delivery.
