Business Development Associate 

Our client which runs one of the largest Section 12J funds in South Africa is seeking to hire 3-4 smart, young and ambitious Corporate Finance Associates to join them as they raise their flagship R400m+ fund. You will be working closely with High Networth Individuals and large corporate executives during the process and will gain a wealth of experience.

The ideal candidates will have vibrant personalities, grit and confidence which is required to close large funding deals with our clients. The role will be beneficial to anyone looking to acquire skills in Business Development or Sales, or having previous experience in a similar environment.

Responsibilities would include

• Arranging and reaching out to our Network of Investors to set up and arrange meetings to discuss funding opportunities.
• Identifying and building new partnership networks, as well as maintaining existing partnerships.
• Management of key investor information, including marketing and annual financial reports and production of detailed information packs.
• Presentation of detailed business plans/proposals to investors and network partners
• Keep accurate track of all funding requirements for the Group and provide the relevant reporting.
• Ensure that all investor information, including the operational, financial and marketing reports are up to date and accurately reflect the position of the group.
• Embark on regular “road shows” and investor presentations with the objective of raising funding.

Ideal Candidate

• Newly qualified CA (SA); B.Com/Business Science/CFA graduates with previous work experience would be ideal.
• Previous experience in Capital Raising, Business Development or Financial Services Sales-type roles will be ideal.
• An “eagerness to learn for a lack of experience” is a non negotiable
• An excellent command of English, both written and verbal, is a requirement of the role.
• Confidence, good presentation skills and a professional demeanor are a MUST
• This is a 8 month contract role and could be made permanent for outstanding candidates with ability to work well in the larger property investment portfolio.

Salary Expectations:

• Basic monthly: R20 000 - R30 000
• Commission: R0 - R100 000 / month
