Business Intelligence Developer(Back-End) at Omnia (Pty) LTD

Qualifications

• Matric or NQF level 5
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or Statistics, master’s in informatics is advantageous.

Certifications

• BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Oracle Business Intelligence, T-SQL)

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience with BI Tools (MS SSIS, MS SQL)
• Experience in databases, database administration and data analysis                                                        
• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist
• 5+ years’ experience in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining

Duties

• Developing new features or enhancements to existing data warehouses.
• Adding new functionality to a data warehouse or improving the performance of certain processes.
• Analyzing and interpreting data to find patterns and trends in business operations.
• Designing and developing new data management systems and applications to improve business processes.
• Developing new methods for collecting, storing, managing, and analyzing data.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement within existing business processes and recommending changes to management.
• Maintaining data integrity by ensuring that records are accurate and up to date.
• Providing technical assistance to end users who are having difficulties with existing applications or who are requesting new applications be developed.
• Participating in meetings with other departments to share findings or to present proposals for changes to existing systems.
• Managing projects that involve large amounts of data or complex technical issues.
