Planning and Demand Forecasting

• Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and sales data to forecast demand for the Animal Care and Animal Feed portfolio.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand customer requirements and market opportunities.
• Develop purchasing strategies that optimise profitability while achieving budget and sales targets.
• Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies where required.

Supplier Sourcing and Management

• Identify, evaluate, and appoint suppliers of Animal Care and Animal Feed products.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, trading terms, and supply agreements.
• Ensure suppliers comply with quality, ethical, and contractual standards.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and collaborate on new product opportunities.

Pricing and Commercial Management

• Monitor market pricing and negotiate competitive purchase prices.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and profitability through effective commercial negotiations.

Inventory Management

• Work closely with inventory management teams to ensure products are ordered and delivered on time.
• Optimise inventory levels to minimise stock-outs and excess stock.
• Monitor inventory performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Analyse inventory data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Sales and Product Performance

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to optimise product performance and profitability.
• Analyse product performance and implement initiatives to improve sales and margins.

Rebate Management

• Manage monthly and annual supplier rebates to ensure agreed targets are achieved.
• Review rebate structures and trading terms annually.
• Promote products linked to rebate agreements to maximise sales growth and profitability.

Product Training

• Coordinate product training initiatives between suppliers and branch specialists to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
• 3–5 years' experience in retail buying or a similar role, preferably within procurement and inventory management.
• Essential: Proven experience within the Animal Care and Animal Feed industry.
• Essential: In-depth knowledge of Animal Care and Animal Feed products.
• Knowledge of retail and consumer trends and buying behaviour.
• Sound understanding of supply chain management principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
