    Campaign Analyst - Greenpeace International

    Job description

    12 months fixed term contract / full time (40 hours)

    Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located (subject to agreement). See the locations here. We offer a competitive NGO level salary and benefits, the specifics of which depend on the location where the preferred candidates will be based.     Do you want to work on groundbreaking global campaigns on climate change and biodiversity?

     

    Greenpeace International is looking for a Campaign Insights Analyst to join our international team of data professionals and contribute to Greenpeace’s vision of being a truly data-informed campaigning organisation.

     

    This role's mission is to embed data-informed thinking into our global campaign programme. In this role, the Campaign Analyst will work embedded into campaign and advocacy teams, working on some of the most important issues of our time.

    It will also provide lots of opportunities for development, including new systems and tools, and working with different types of engagement data and projects across our network of over 50 countries.

     

    Main responsibilities:

    1. Contribute to the development and realization of programme & engagement strategy as part of our global campaign projects in : specified area of expertise:

    2. Advise on priority global campaigns such that they integrate media, social media, and digital data into their planning processes, as well as take advantage of these technologies in their campaign execution.

    3. To conduct and communicate several types of quantitative and qualitative analysis for campaign partners, including but not limited to:

      • Issue & Brand Analysis of media articles,

      • Narrative & Discourse analysis

      • Framing analysis of media and social media coverage

      • Audience Analysis

      • Sentiment

      • Polling and research analysis

      • Performance Monitoring, Dashboarding & Reporting

    Job requirements

    Skills & Experience needed (compulsory): 

    1. Able to demonstrate competence and experience in either: :

    • 3 years Working as Qualitative analyst, Media Analyst, Social Media Analyst, Digital (web) Analyst, International Media Planner or Buyer.

    -or-

    • Academic background in media or communication studies with a focus on either international communication

    -or-

    • As part of a campaign team with a strong focus on analytics, with a strong aptitude and interest in analytics or qualitative analytics

    2. An expert level understanding of 1, ideally 2, of the following domains:

      • Social media Insights; including deep knowledge of Facebook, Twitter & Instagram

      • Professional understanding of media & social media monitoring

      • Audience understanding & Market research using polling or other research methods

      • Qualitative Analysis, with a focus on media & social media

    3. Fluent in written and spoken English

     

    Skills and Experience (Desirable):

    Note: A strong application meets the skills and experience criteria above, and additionally demonstrates 2-3 of the following:

    • Previous experience in communications or media, with a focus on qualitative analysis (or an equivalent academic experience)

    • Proven ability to develop methodologies for qualitative analysis

    • Experience with our tool stack:

      • Talkwalker, Fanpage Karma, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Data Studio, Tableau and/or equivalent products

    • Professional understanding of media monitoring (eg. boolean search construction) best practices, including qualitative media analysis (eg. framing analysis)

    • Understanding of national and regional media and social media landscapes in a variety of geographies, preferably Latin America, Southeast Asia and/or Africa.

    • Experience with network analysis using applications like Gephi (to analyze online news or social media).

    • Project management or change management experience

    • Fluent in a second language, preferably Bahasa, French, Portuguese, Spanish, or Arabic
