About The Job

• The CSIR has a vacancy for a Candidate Industrial Engineer in the Technology for Special Operations (TSO) impact area, within the Defence and Security cluster. The candidate will perform Logistic Engineering tasks and will undergo in-house and formal training towards specialisation in Logistic Engineering before integration into a team of engineers. This position is based in Stellenbosch.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct component data evaluation towards life cycle determination;
• Evaluate engineering data towards maximising system reliability;
• Establish maintenance schedules and procedures;
• Establish training data and information;
• Determine spares requirements and stores levels;
• Establish Integrated Logistic Support processes.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial engineering;
• A Master’s degree in Industrial engineering will be advantageous;
• Experience in Logistic Engineering will be an added advantage;
• Ability to work independently for extended periods of time when required;
• Ability to work with big data;
• Ability to perform monotonous work accurately and efficiently;
• Must have exceptional attention to detail especially when working with documentation.

South African citizenship is required; must have or be able to obtain a valid security clearance and must not hold dual citizenship.
