Cane Supply Officer at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• RCL FOODS is seeking a Cane Supply Officer to join our Sugar & Milling Division. The roles will be based in Komati and report to the Manager: The primary objective of this position is to provide efficient cane supply service to the Komati Mill and to build and maintain sustainable relationships with cane growers.

Minimum Requirements    

• Diploma/Degree in Agriculture Plant Production
• Qualification/Certificate in Agriculture – Sugar Cane Harvesting
• Code B Drivers’ license
• MS Office (proficiency in Word and excel)

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Manage cane delivery agreements.
• Implementation and maintenance of the GIS mapping and information system 
• Assist with continued viability of small and medium scale growers.
• Supply of relevant information to the Mill and Growers
• Do problem analysis, formulate, and implement corrective action:
• Create and/or update various reports on computer.
• Contribute to Cane Control Departments strategic plan, 
• perform standby duties and travel daily.
• Management of team (performance management, discipline, recruitment, training & development, leave, etc)
• Report and investigate accidents, incidents and implement preventative measures.  
• Maintain high quality work standards, comply with safety standards and requirements, and ensure good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Standby duty dealing with issues on cane and logistics for 24 hours a day for a week every three weeks. During standby, these duties take precedence over other normal duties as they keep the mill supplied with cane.
