Minimum Requirements:

• Matriculation (Grade 12)
• Certificate in food production, preparation and food safety
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a canteen or restaurant kitchen
• Understanding of general food production and preparation practices
• Familiarity with menu and recipe files
• Innovative approach to menu options
• Menu planning skills
• Training in chemical and equipment usage
• Cashier experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash & Banking: Efficiently manage cash transactions and banking processes.
• Daily Food Preparation: Assist in the daily preparation of delicious cooked food items.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Cashier Duties: Handle cashier responsibilities accurately and professionally.
• Merchandising: Contribute to effective merchandising for appealing food displays.
• Hygiene & House-keeping: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen area.
• Food Safety: Basic Food Safety Knowledge (Training Advantageous).
• Dress Code, Personal Hygiene, and Time Management: Adhere to the specified dress code, maintain personal hygiene standards, and manage time efficiently.
• Stock Taking: Assist with the weekly stock take counts.
