Category Manager - Woodmead at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Develop and excecute fact-base category strategies on global and regional level in close alignment with stakeholders.
• Plan and lead strategic sourcing projects, engaging stakeholders and require cross functional resources.
• Define supplier base and secure capacity, plan and coordinate implementation (timeline, resouces, cost, quality).
• Manage spend; monitor compliance to category strategies / approved vendor lists.
• Manage supplier development / performance and setup / contribute to supplier relationship programs with key suppliers.
• Ensure compliance of the category strategies and sourcing projects with AECI Procurement Guidelines/Policy, Directive as well as legal and regulatory requirements and supply strategies.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric / Grade 12.
• com / Bsc / BTech university degree or NQF equivalent in the relevant field.
• Both commercial and technical education and/ or work experience.
• Procurement or Supply Chain related qualification with a minimum of 6 – 8 years procurement management or category management experience.
• Understanding of Chemical Industry experience will be advantageous.
• Working experience in international organisations across functions and cultures.
• Supply market and supplier relationship management expertise.
• Understanding of technical and commercial levers.
• Ability to set up supplier contracts.
• Understanding of procurement systems.
