Chief Accountant Budget & Reporting at Nyandeni Municipality

• Salary scale: R711 578.00 - R746 160.00 per annum

Requirements of the position:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or National Diploma in Accounting or relevant qualification in Finance and Accounting
• Certificate in Municipal Finance Management.
• Valid Code EB driving license.
• 5 years' minimum experience in Municipal Budgeting and Reporting, Preparation of Financial Statements, and Municipal Finance

Key Performance Areas:

• Coordinating the compilation of the annual budget, adjustments budget, and MTREF, ensuring full alignment with the IDP, SDBIP, and MFMA.
• Overseeing, quality-check, and reviewing all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations in compliance with GRAP and National Treasury standards.
• Analyzing expenditure and revenue trends, guide variance analysis, and draft statutory Section 71 and Section 72 reports for management review.
• Leading the compilation of Annual Financial Statement working papers, maintain an audit-ready file, and act as the operational liaison for auditors.
• Supervising, training, and mentoring the subordinate Accountant while monitoring and enforcing internal financial controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Providing technical financial guidance to departments and prepare statutory data submissions for National and Provincial Treasury.
