Chief BIM Modeller at AECOM

Job Description:

• AECOM is actively seeking highly talented and motivated CAD Draughtpersons with Civil 3D Modelling capabilities for employment based at their South African offices. The candidates will have the opportunity to work with a talented group on water and wastewater treatment plants, water distribution, sanitary and storm pipelines, water resources as well as a wide variety of different municipal infrastructure projects.  The ideal candidate will be responsible and able to learn quickly on the job.
• As a Draughtsperson, you will be assisting the Engineer and the broader team in producing wet utility models (potable water, sewer, stormwater, irrigation) and drawings for international projects.

Technical Excellence:

• Develops Civil 3D models drawings, sketches, diagrams with accuracy to the design instruction under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.
• Ensures high-quality drawing outputs in Civil 3D under project timelines and budget.
• When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Work will predominantly international and may work as a secondment to an international team - so remote working is required.

Job Summary:

• Creates sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• 9 years’ experience
• Primary competence required with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Competence using REVIT, Plant 3D, Inventor and other Draughting packages would be advantages.

Qualifications

• Draughting Certificate required.
• NDip an advantage
