Minimum Requirements

• Minimum: Appropriate Recognized Degree at NQF Level 8 in Commerce, Accounting, Engineering Sciences, Natural Sciences or equivalent.
• Desired: Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or compliance certification is desirable.
• Minimum: 10 years’ experience in governance, compliance, or financial leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage compliance in regulated/municipal environments.
• Desired: Registration with a statutory body (SAICA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).

Primary Duties

• Develop compliance and governance strategies that embed accountability, transparency, fairness, efficiency, and compliance across the organisation.
• Manage alignment of compliance frameworks with municipal legislation, water services regulations, and corporate governance standards.
• Direct enterprise risk management frameworks and maintain transparent reporting on compliance and governance risks.
• Develop anti-corruption, ethics, and whistleblowing programmes that promote a culture of fairness and accountability.
• Implement compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations through transparent audits and accountable controls.
• Manage legal and governance advisory services to maintain policies and frameworks that are compliant and defensible under audit.
• Direct stakeholder engagement with regulators, auditors, and government bodies to maintain fair and transparent reporting.
• Administer fraud prevention and internal investigations, maintaining efficiency, accountability, and transparency in outcomes.
• Direct crisis management and business continuity planning to maintain compliance, transparency, and efficiency in response.
