    Chief Financial Officer

    The successful candidate will lead and manage the finance portfolio for the Organisation, ensuring professional and ethical financial standards, practices and governance, and a cohesive finance service offering that is aligned to the business strategies. Determine and direct financial strategy for the Business partnership with the Board. Prepare financial reports and budgets for the executive to support the financial decision-making process, and ensure that financial transactions, policies and procedures meet business short- and long-term objectives and regulatory body requirements

    Responsibilities

    • Drive the development, planning for and implementation of the strategy and operating model for the Finance Department, partnering with the Group CEO/ Director and Exco in response to the business model and Astute’s strategy.
    • Establish an aligned Dashboard focused on the implementation, measuring and management of the Finance strategy.
    • Responsible to deliver on agreed Net Profit.
    • Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values.
    • Provide stewardship of the overall business portfolio ensuring business integrity, financial health and control.
    • Practice sound and ethical financial management through the technical application of financial, accounting and business knowledge.
    • Monitor and enforce effective control, governance and compliance procedures to prevent and reduce financial losses.
    • Manage people by executing line manager responsibilities and create an environment that encourages employee growth and performance delivery.
    • Lead projects, overall performance and strategic direction of the relevant area/function
    • Engage and communicate effectively with relevant colleagues, regulators, auditors and other stakeholders.
    • Effectively partner with the business and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the business.
    • Draw up a budget aligned to tactical delivery plans, monitor effectiveness and report on variances.
    • Develop financial strategies and supporting frameworks and execute defined strategies by translating them into financial operations.
    • Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training and development where appropriate.
    • Review and analysing the financial performance and forecasting.
    • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyse business performance metrics.
    • Provide direction for continuous improvement efforts by managing the identification of opportunities, cost reduction and improvements.

    Formal Qualification

    • Chartered Accountant (SA)

    • Business Planning and budgeting
    • Financial Modelling
    • Product Knowledge
    • ERP systems
    • Excel

     

    Experience

    • 10-12 years working experience post qualification of which 6years ideally at management level.
    • Outstanding financial and commercial acumen, preferably in a Fintech environment
    • Up to date knowledge in accounting standards
    • Thorough understanding of Financial and Accounting Systems and packages
    • Thorough understanding of planning and reporting processes
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability/desire to work in a team
    • Strong leadership skills: ability to effectively influence all levels of management
    • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
    • Well refined technical finance and strategic skills
    • Ability to managing complexity multiple stakeholders
