Our established FinServ company based in Umhlanga Ridge, seeks a strategic transformational leader, to join our business as a Chief Information Officer, to oversee the strategic utilization of Information Technology.  The ideal candidate will formulate and communicate our organization's IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives. By leading our technology team and fostering innovation, the CIO will drive digital IT transformation initiatives that enhance our business success.

The successful incumbent must display a strong technical acumen, excellent leadership skills and be business savvy. A deep understanding of software development, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging technology trends is crucial. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technological Strategy:

• Develop and articulate the company's technology strategy, aligning initiatives with business goals through collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Champion innovative solutions to drive digital transformation, while staying abreast of technology trends and evaluating their relevance
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors and industry leaders to explore new business opportunities

Leadership:

• Lead and manage the technology team, providing guidance and resources to ensure effective project execution
• Manage technology budgets to support initiatives while maintaining financial discipline
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the company’s technology infrastructure

Technical Management:

• Ensure systems alignment and operational efficiency, monitoring performance indicators and assessing technological risks
• Drive the development of technology products and systems, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch

Systems and IT Operations:

• Manage system infrastructure to ensure functionality, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards and regulations
• Implement best practices for IT operations and cybersecurity to ensure reliability and security across the organization

Research and Development:

• Lead research efforts to evaluate new technologies and methodologies, fostering a culture of innovation
• Stay informed of technology advancements to enhance products, services, and processes

Project Management and Communication:

• Manage technological projects, making informed decisions and resolving technical issues efficiently
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure appropriate technology use and smooth execution of initiatives

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 10 - 15 years IT experience with proven managerial experience as a CIO or similar role
• Exceptional knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, data analysis, budgeting, and business operations
