Chief Investment Officer – Listed Investments at Public Investment Corporation

Purpose of the role:

• The Chief Investment Officer, Listed Investments, provides strategic leadership and oversight of the corporation’s listed investments portfolio. This role ensures optimal risk-adjusted returns, strong governance, and alignment with the company’s long term financial and sustainability objectives. The CIO, Listed Investments, oversees investment strategy, asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio performance across all listed asset classes.

Requirements:

• At least 15+ years of Senior Management experience in the investment management industry with significant experience in managing listed investment portfolios over multiple market cycles.
• Demonstrated expertise in portfolio management, asset allocation, and manager selection.
• Minimum five years in executive leadership/Top Management.
• Master’s degree (Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or Related).
• CFA,CA (SA), Pr. Eng designation or equivalent.
• FAIS Registered Key Individual (RE 05, 01 and 03 Certificate).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional designation or Registration, CFA, CA (SA), Pr.Eng designation or Equivalent.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Investment Governance

• Develop and execute an investment strategy aligned with corporate objectives and shareholder expectations.
• Lead creation and continuous refinement of the Investment Policy Statement and strategic asset allocation framework.
• Provide thought leadership on capital markets, global trends, and evolving investment opportunities.

Portfolio Management & Optimisation

• Oversee multi-asset listed investment portfolios across equities, fixed income, listed property, ETFs, and index strategies.
• Ensure portfolios deliver competitive long-term performance through evidence-based, research-driven decision-making.
• Direct implementation of investment strategies, including active, passive, factor-based, and thematic mandates.

Manager Selection & Oversight

• Lead selection, due diligence, appointment, and monitoring of external asset managers.
• Evaluate mandate performance, investment processes, and risk profiles of all external managers.
