    Chief Mechanical Engineer (Engineering & Technical Services)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • National Senior Certificate, an NQF level 7 qualification in Engineering (B Eng/BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification coupled with six (6) years’ experience post qualification as registered professional Engineer. Compulsory registration with ECSA as professional Engineer (Mechanical). A valid Driver’s licence. Computer literate.

    DUTIES:

    • To perform final review and approvals of audits on new engineering designs according to design principles or theory.  Research the needs of the relevant health institutions.  Monitoring of current deployed technology.  Manage the execution of maintenance strategy through the provision of appropriate structures, systems and resources.  Monitor maintenance efficiencies according to organizational goals to direct or redirect engineering services for the attainment of organizational objectives.  Allocate, control, monitor and report on all resources.  Compile risk logs and manage significant risk according to sound risk management practice and organizational requirements.  Provide technical consulting services for the operation on engineering risks.  Manage the availability and management of funds to meet the MTEF objectives within the engineering environment.  Manage the operational capital project portfolio for the operation to ensure effective resourcing according to the organisational needs and objectives.  Assist with the establishment of the statutory structures as required in terms of the Act.  Monitor OHS training interventions at all Health Facilities in terms of equipment.  Monitor safety audits.  Continuous professional development to keep up with new technologies and procedure.  Develop and manage the operational plan.  Serve on transversal task teams as required.  Implement quality control of work delivered by employees.
