Ensure City compliance with approved financial policies and applicable reporting standards, by annually assessing the effectiveness of the control environment
Implement and contribute to strategic capability and leadership ensuring Council meets all statutory reporting requirements
Ensure that sound internal controls practices are being implemented on identifies control weaknesses/gaps and opportunities for improvement
Lead the City's process for the compilation of the annual financial statements and group financial statements
Ensure City compliance with relevant accounting and administrative practices, in conformance with the legislation and Generally Recognized Acceptance Accounting practice, that relevant significant accounting policies are developed and reviewed annually
Management of the audit processes and facilitate auditors' access to management and ensure that audit requests and audit queries are timeously attended to and properly responded
