Job Description: 

• The role will be responsible for providing expert systems engineering leadership across complex, large-scale, multi-disciplinary acquisition projects, ensuring capability alignment, technical rigor, and through-life value by applying advanced engineering practices and Smart Buyer principles.

Duties Responsibilities:

Qualifications: 

• Grade 12.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial).

TECHNICAL / LEGAL CERTIFICATION / PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION

• ECSA Registration (Essential)
• INCOSE CSEP (Essential)

Experience: 

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in systems engineering or related technical disciplines, including at least 3 years at senior engineer level, with proven leadership of complex engineering projects.
• Demonstrated experience in contract management and negotiation across the full acquisition lifecycle, ensuring technical integrity and programme alignment.
• Strong end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle expertise, including requirements definition, system integration, verification and validation, and lifecycle cost optimisation.
• Proven involvement in high-value acquisition and procurement processes, including technical specification development, bid evaluation, and contract implementation. 
• Solid understanding of engineering governance, standards, and public procurement frameworks, with experience operating in capital project and defence-related environments.
