Citrus Farm Manager - Cape Town at Hire Resolve

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of citrus production, including planting, cultivation, and harvesting of citrus fruits.
• Implement best practices for pest and disease management to ensure high-quality yields.
• Manage irrigation systems to optimize water usage and enhance crop growth.
• Develop and maintain effective crop rotation and nutrient management plans.
• Supervise farm staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor and evaluate the health of the citrus trees, addressing any issues promptly.
• Collaborate with agronomists and other specialists to improve productivity and sustainability.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, yields, and financial data.
• Ensure compliance with agricultural regulations and sustainability practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in citrus farming or farm management.
• Strong understanding of pest management, irrigation, and crop production practices.
• Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing farm staff.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with agricultural compliance regulations.
• Proficient in using farm management software for record-keeping and reporting.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
