Job Description

• A well-established civil engineering consultancy based in Sandton, Johannesburg, is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist (office-based in Sandton, JHB) to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of road infrastructure projects at municipal and provincial levels.
• Undertake roads design tasks, including stormwater management, geometrics, pavements, sewer and water reticulation, and bulk earthworks computations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications, including SANS/SABS 1200, COLTO, and applicable Bills of Quantities.
• Utilize civil design software—such as Civil 3D, Model Maker, Road Maker, or AutoCAD—effectively in project execution.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers and project teams in both design and implementation phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must be professionally registered as a Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.) with ECSA—mandatory.
• 3–5 years of post-registration experience in civil engineering technologist roles.
• Proven experience in roads projects (municipal and provincial); SANRAL experience is highly recommended.
• Strong technical understanding of stormwater design, geometrics, pavements, sewer/water reticulation, and bulk earthworks.
• Proficient with SANS/SABS 1200, COLTO, and Bills of Quantities.
• Familiar with at least one civil design platform: Civil 3D, Model Maker, Road Maker, or AutoCAD.
