    Climate Change Advisor

    Financial Perspective

    Strategic Planning:

    • Support the development and implementation of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency throughout the value chain, including the adoption of cleaner technologies and renewable energy solutions.

    Risk Management:

    • Identify climate-related risks and opportunities that may impact the company's operations, supply chain, and reputation, and develop mitigation measures to address these risks effectively.

    Reporting and Disclosure:

    • Prepare accurate and transparent reports on the company's environmental performance, including carbon emissions, energy consumption, and sustainability metrics, for internal use and external disclosure purposes.

    Customer Perspective

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Engage with internal stakeholders, industry partners, NGOs, and government agencies to build collaborative relationships, share best practices, and advocate for policies that support climate action and sustainability goals.

    Business Excellence

    Climate Policy Analysis:

    • Monitor and analyze national and international climate policies, regulations, and market trends to inform company strategy and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

    Carbon Footprint Assessment:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of the company's carbon footprint across all operational areas, including emissions from production processes, transportation, and energy consumption.

    Sustainability Innovation:

    • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in climate change mitigation, renewable energy, and sustainable development, and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

    Project Management:

    • Lead and manage climate-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Coordinate cross functional teams and external partners to achieve climate goals and objectives effectively.

    People Management

    Employee Education and Training:

    • Provide training and educational resources to employees at all levels to increase awareness of climate change issues, promote sustainable practices, and foster a culture of environmental stewardship.

    Professional Qualification and Certifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CEM, LEED AP) are a plus.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in climate change mitigation, sustainability management, or related fields, preferably within the petrochemical or energy industry.

    Knowledge and skills:

    • Strong understanding of climate science, greenhouse gas accounting methodologies, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., Paris Agreement, IPCC reports, TCDF, GHG Protocol).
    • Familiar with carbon accounting, emissions trading and carbon offset mechanisms.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful climate change strategies, including emission reduction initiatives, renewable energy projects, and sustainability reporting.
    • Excellent analytical skills, data analysis and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and formulate actionable recommendations.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for driving positive change and making a meaningful impact on global sustainability challenges.
