Clinical Program Coordinator ( Infection Prevention and Control)
Matric or equivalent qualification, plus Basic R425 qualification i.e Diploma/Degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
Grade1: A minimum of 7 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in general Nursing.
Duties:
Facilitate and oversee the development of operational/business plans to give strategic guidelines. Facilitate, coordinate and implement national, provincial and regional legislation regarding infection prevention and control. Provide professional and technical support for the provision of quality patient care through proper management of relevant programmes. Maintain standards and norms of nursing practice to promote the health status of health care users.
Develop and implement effective hospital infection prevention and control surveillance system. Work in collaboration with Environmental Health Services and Housekeeping department to ensure clean hospital environment as well as compliance to health care risk management protocols. Act on an advisory capacity to hospital management about the latest developments in the field of infection prevention and control and improved methods of embarking upon activities with resultant better outcomes. Manage, coordinate and act as a focal person for TB program in the facility.
Utilize information technology (IT) and other management information systems to manage information for the enhancement of service delivery. Establish, maintain and participate in inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teamwork that promotes effective and efficient health care. Manage and utilize resources in accordance with relevant directives and legislation. Be willing to accept any additional tasks that seeks to improve overall quality of care and services to patients and hospital.
