    Clinical Resource Consultant - MMS/Infusion Systems - Durban

    Purpose of Role

    • The CRC role is a contract time-determined, full-time hours role in MMS/Infusion Systems and will cover the Infusion portfolio

    The Clinical Resource Consultant will:

    • Act as an expert in IV therapy for the MMS Infusion device portfolio with an emphasis on hands on training for clinicians 
    • Take overall responsibility for all clinical aspects of the portfolio within the assigned geography and provide pre- and post-sales support in a clinical, training and educational capacity.
    • Effectively leverage their clinical and product knowledge to advance sales opportunities as they relate directly to customer needs.
    • Flexibly support the sales team, acting as an expert, advisor and troubleshooter.
    • Working in partnership with customers, the Clinical Resource Consultant will advocate best clinical practices for the portfolio, with particular emphasis on the correct selection and use of intravenous administration lines.

    Role Key Elements:

    The primary responsibility of the Clinical Resource Consultant is to support the sales team with clinical support, which may include but is not limited to the following key areas:

    • Attainment and maintenance of clinical expertise in all aspects of IV therapy across Care Areas, to deliver reliable information and education to customers and associates.
    • Offer clinical and technical support to customers and internal teams.
    • Develop peer-to-peer clinical relationships with key customers.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Attainment and maintenance of clinical expertise in all aspects of IV therapy across Care Areas, to deliver reliable information and education to customers and associates.
    • Ongoing clinical development / updates to keep up to date with clinical practice and pertinent guidelines.
    • Offer scientific & clinical/product support to customers, internal teams & distributors teams
    • Troubleshoot and answer clinical queries as required in an appropriate manner
    • Report product complaints as needed. (As soon as possible, and at a maximum within 48 hours)
    • Support sales team members as appropriate.
    • Provide feedback following field visits, so a support plan can be implemented.
    • Attend MMS exhibitions as requested to support sales-booth staff.

    Dataset Management & Systems Enablement

    • The CRC will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and governing a centralised archive of all customer datasets per account.
    • A laptop will be issued (Windows-based) with the required operating system and software will be provided to ensure the CRC can perform all dataset-related responsibilities effectively.
    • A dataset repository already exists; however, customers frequently request updates, refreshes, or modifications based on evolving clinical and operational needs.

    The CRC will: 

    • Consolidate existing datasets into the central archive.
    • Ensure datasets are available to internal and external stakeholders as required.
    • Proactively engage with customers and internal stakeholders to design, develop, and update datasets in line with business and clinical requirements. 
    • 48-hour turnaround expectation refers to:
    • Acknowledgement of request.
    • Confirmation of scope.
    • Communication of a clear execution plan and delivery timeline.

    Driving Set Utilisation (Commercial Enablement)

    The CRC will work closely with the commercial and sales teams to:

    • Define minimum requirements and success metrics for increasing set utilisation.
    • Align on priority accounts where targeted pull-through strategies are required.
    • Execute agreed utilisation growth plans and track outcomes consistently.
    • This role is critical in closing the gap between device deployment and optimal consumable utilisation.

    Market Shaping & Clinical Leadership

    The CRC will lead and support the clinical market-shaping agenda through:

    • Structured clinical engagements.
    • Education and best-practice alignment with both new and existing customers.

    The CRC will act as the clinical custodian and trusted advocate for the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) portfolio, including:

    • Infusion systems.
    • Sets and consumables.
    • Dispensing and broader MMS solutions where relevant.

    Strong clinical leadership and subject matter expertise is required to:

    • Influence adoption.
    • Shape clinical practice.
    • Support market development aligned to strategic objectives.

    Requirements

    Essential Qualifications and Personal Skills and Attitudes:

    • Registered Nurse (preferably experienced or qualified Critical Care Nurse) minimum five-years of experience.
    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • Excellent clinical knowledge and familiarity with infusion devices.
    • Preferable teaching/training experience.
    • A strong desire to develop the skills and knowledge of others.
    • Confident in giving presentations to small and large groups.
    • Demonstrates excellent communication skills that work effectively with all levels of customers.
    • Well organized, able to prioritize appropriately, and displays good time management skills.
    • A reliable and supportive team player.
    • Be available to work outside normal working hours/away from home as deemed necessary (above 60% of time on occasions).
    • Must maintain and provide timely and complete reports of activity as required.
    • Must maintain and share a 6-week schedule with the Sales and Marketing Manager.
    • Must follow Company policies and procedures.
    • Language: Fluency in English (Speak, Read, Write) A local language will be beneficial.

    Key Performance Measurements for the Role:

    Clinical Training & Education

    • Deliver high-quality clinical training on MMS infusion devices to customers in the assigned territory.
    • Minimum 8 training sessions (or as scheduled) per month with post training evaluations.
    • Ensures correct clinical application of devices and supports business growth.
    • Improve clinical competence and confidence of end-users.
    • Achieve attendee average ≥ 4/5 in training evaluations and ≥80% pass rate on competency assessments.

    Installations & Clinical Support

    • Support installation and clinical adoption of infusion devices.
    • Work within cross-functional coordination and project planning.
    • Ensures customer’s clinical readiness post-installation.
    • Leverage follow-up visits and remote support.

    Clinical Expertise & Professional Development

    • Stay updated on IV therapy, infusion systems, and relevant guidelines.
    • Ensures credibility as a clinical expert.
    • Responsiveness to Customer Queries
    • Address clinical queries and support requests promptly.
    • Average response time < 48 hours.
    • Escalates customer complaints as soon as made aware, and within a maximum time of 48 hours.

    Issue Resolution

    • Efficiently resolve clinical issues with minimal escalation.
    • Utilize troubleshooting guides and technical collaboration.
    • Enhances customer satisfaction and reduces downtime.
