    CMM QC Inspector (Operator)

    Job Description:

    • To support production by validating their ability to produce outputs with the best quality in a safe working environment/operation through conducting inspections at appropriate stages throughout production runs using CMM and other measurement instruments and fixed gauges. Record results from these inspections as per relevant instructions. Assist in process control training, improvement, and problem-solving.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Setting up and operating a CMM for all required samples and interpreting results
    • Conducting NDT when required and interpreting results
    • Assisting in SPC, including MSA as needed
    • Verifying accuracy and condition of measuring instruments
    • Managing condition of measuring & testing equipment for optimized usage
    • Validating First Off products produced by Setters using measuring instruments
    • Assisting in Metrology related aspects for R&D and Engineering
    • Ensuring production personnel have relevant QC resources for accurate verification
    • Conducting training on verification activities for production personnel
    • Auditing the effective operation of production activities
    • Conducting patrol inspections to verify processes conformance
    • Visually inspecting products against requirements
    • Stopping machines and raising Non-Conformance Reports when processes deviate
    • Isolating and controlling non-conforming parts
    • Updating and filing relevant QC records
    • Maintaining housekeeping standards
    • Entering results into Data Entry Software
    • Compiling and communicating Reports and COC's from results
    • Managing Testing Equipment, Method, and Control setup
    • Performing general administration, reporting, and updating registers as required
    • Assisting in driving continuous improvement within the QC team
    • Supporting Engineering Team with APQP activities
    • Performing effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders
    • Carrying out legal instructions as operationally required

    Qualifications:

    • Matric with pass marks of minimum 50% in English, Mathematics, and Science
    • Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Assurance fields advantageous
    • Advanced Courses in ISO9001 and IATF16949

    General Requirements:

    • With Formal Education: Minimum 1 Years’ experience in a QC role using CMM in an Engineering Environment (Advantageous if role was at Supervisory Level
    • Without Formal Education: Minimum 4 Years’ experience in a Quality Control Role, or CNC Setting, with 1 Years’ experience in using CMM (Advantageous if role was at Supervisory Level)
    • Minimum 2 Years’ in the Automotive Sector
    • Own reliable transport is required
