• Boxer Superstores is looking for an analytical and detail-driven Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial team.
• This role will support the Commercial Lead Analyst in producing business-critical reports, analysing commercial performance, and transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic business decisions.
• The successful candidate will have strong analytical and commercial acumen, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to work accurately with large volumes of data in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Requirements    

• Tertiary qualification at NQF Level 7 or higher
• 3–5 years’ relevant experience in commercial analysis, financial analysis, business analysis, data analysis, reporting, or a similar analytical role
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills
• Knowledge and working experience of BoMM and Cube
• Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Sound commercial and financial acumen
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to handle confidential business information with discretion

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Compile and maintain Profit & Loss (P&L) reports, ensuring the accuracy of data, formulas, lookups, and supporting information
• Compile inflation reporting and analyse like-for-like data to provide meaningful business insights
• Analyse basket data and summarise findings into clear, user-friendly reports and dashboards
• Compile swell and damage reports, transforming raw data into structured and meaningful information
• Monitor and report on growth hurdles, including supplier growth, GRVs, trade terms, and projected income
• Build and maintain Excel-based dashboards to support commercial reporting and decision-making
• Manage and maintain the GP Predictor, ensuring sales and gross profit information is updated accurately and timeously
• Cross-check formulas, calculations, lookups, and data outputs to ensure reporting accuracy
• Assist with aligning Excel-based reporting and the GP Predictor with relevant IT applications and system developments
• Track competitor promotional activity and maintain supporting promotional information
• Conduct post-promotional analysis using sales and promotional data
• Review stock-on-hand performance on promotional lines and compile relevant promotional and combo sales reporting
• Analyse commercial data and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance insights
• Present complex information in clear dashboards and reports for Commercial, Finance, and Executive stakeholders
• Respond to ad hoc analytical and reporting requirements as required
