Commercial Legal Counsel at Salt South Africa

What You’ll Do:

• Draft & Negotiate: Handle a variety of commercial contracts, including production, sponsorship, licensing, partnerships, influencers, and service agreements.
• Advise: Provide pragmatic legal counsel on labour law, disputes, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate: Work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with contracting policies.
• Manage External Counsel: Supervise relationships with external legal partners, managing tasks, timelines, and budgets.
• Improve Processes: Develop and enhance templates, business processes, and internal policies.
• Ensure Compliance: Partner with compliance teams to align with legal regulations.
• Support Operations: Offer ongoing legal support across teams and business units.
• Lead Projects: Spearhead or contribute to special legal initiatives as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 4-6 years in a high-tech company’s legal department or a leading law firm’s commercial/high-tech division.
• Skills: Expertise in drafting and negotiating complex agreements; excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strengths: Strong organisational, analytical, and business acumen to align legal requirements with business objectives.
• Language: Native-level English proficiency.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in law from a top institution and qualified to practice in South Africa.
