Communications Consultant (6 month Fixed Term Contract) at Santam Insurance

What will make you successful in this role?

• In conjunction with the Corporate Communications team develop and implement on an on-going basis a company-wide communications strategy that meets organisational objectives and aligns with the company’s overall strategy,
• Expertise in the Compiling / writing of copy, 
• Experience in the editing of copy.

Qualification and Experience

• Relevant B Degree /Diploma in Communications / Journalism
• At least 10 years’ communication experience in a corporate communication environment 
• Experience of advising senior managers on complex communications challenges, including crisis communications 
• Experience of writing for a variety of audiences 

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong editing and proofreading skills
• Experience in developing and executing successful communications plans directed towards multiple stakeholders 
• Abreast of current communications trends 
• Experience of the financial services industry an advantage
• Good understanding of the South African media landscape
• Computer literate (MS Office package)
• Writing and editing experience Business/commercial acumen
• Good understanding of the Santam group operations and processes
• Customer communication skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills
