Communications & Media Relations Manager at JUMO.WORLD

As Communication & Media Relations Manager you will be produce high-quality, accessible and compelling content to share the JUMO story with our key audiences in top tier business, technology and financial media worldwide to help us advance our strategic objectives and brand reputation. You will be based in Cape Town and will report to the Director of Corporate Affairs.

If you join us, you’ll

• Drive and optimize JUMO’s visibility through a variety of media engagement, digital communication assets and media initiatives including traditional, social and digital channels
• Develop high-quality, accessible and compelling content for JUMO and JUMO’s product brands through commercial understanding of JUMO’s strategy and product offering and related industry knowledge
• Drive the identification, development, pitching and placement of content through strong commercial understanding and ability to interpret data and insights
• Work with subject matter experts in JUMO to develop and utilise communications tools and processes that effectively advance JUMO’s strategic objectives in all markets
• Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with top tier, global business, financial, technology and innovation press as well as with the Communications/PR teams of our key stakeholders (investors, partners etc.) and agencies and outsourced suppliers as required
• Work across functions to ensure early detection and appropriate handling of opportunities and risks that may have an impact on JUMO reputation and provide guidance and advice to JUMO senior management and staff
• Work with the internal JUMO team to communicate the JUMO story effectively and leverage and motivate top talent within the business

• Analytical and trend analysis skills
• The ability to work to tight deadlines, multi-task, prioritise and handle a diverse workload
• A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• A strong track record in building and leading a communications strategy and roadmap that delivers measurable results
• Established communications and media relations skills at a senior level
• An understanding of how to use data and research to drive efforts 
• Experience in media measurement and analytics  
• Proven experience managing top-tier press, reputation and crisis management
• Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative
• Credibility and contacts with top-tier media
• Business related computer skills including knowledge with PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Bonus if you have 

• Experience working in emerging markets outside of South Africa
• Additional languages
• Previous experience overseeing communications for major product launches
