Communications Officer Production: Media Relations at OR Tambo District Municipality

Qualifications:

• National Diploma in Communication/ Journalism/ Public Relations Management
• Code EB Driver’s License
• Certificate in Computer Literacy
• 3 years’ experience in the relevant field

Key Performance Areas:

• Ensure that production and Media management services are contributing to the overall communication strategical plan, leading to communication strategic objectives being met pertaining to Production & Media Management services.
• Ensure risks associated with the Production & Media Management services environment & application are adequately addressed through policies and supporting general codes of conduct and best practices.
• Ensure effective Media Relations & Liaison services are provided within the District leading to a positive image being portrait of the District Municipality.
• Ensure accurate estimates are prepared in relation to requirements enabling Production and Media Management services to contribute positively to the Financial objectives of the section.
• Ensure an effective relationship and effective communication processes between the section and its internal and external clients through effective Media Relations and Liaison Services.
• Ensure Production and Media Management services reports, correspondence and documentation and/or information is recorded, processed and maintained in accordance with laid down administrative and reporting procedures, pertaining to Media Relations and Liaison.
• Ensure compliance with minimum Production and Media Management services audit requirements and support the audit process towards making informed finding about the performance of sub-section.
