    Compliance Auditor

    • A Compliance Auditor will verify that compliance requirements are being met across all business units, working closely with internal auditors to confirm audit readiness. This role is critical to safeguarding Phakisa's reputation for ethical, compliant, and transparent operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Audit Readiness and Execution

    • Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc internal audits across regional client sites to verify ongoing audit readiness.
    • Develop and maintain a regional audit calendar, ensuring all sites are audit ready ahead of client, statutory, or BBBEE related inspections.
    • Verify compliance with POPIA requirements in the handling, storage, and retention of employee and candidate data.
    • Conduct spot checks and site visits to confirm on the ground compliance practices match documented processes.

    Risk Identification and Corrective Action

    • Identify compliance gaps, risks, and non-conformances across and log findings in a structured tracking system.
    • Recommend corrective action plans to site management for implementation and track progress.
    • Flag high-risk or recurring issues.
    • Monitor changes in labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and ensure regional compliance practices are updated accordingly.

    Reporting and Stakeholder Liaison

    • Prepare consolidated compliance and audit readiness reports, highlighting trends, risks, and action items.
    • Address compliance queries and demonstrate audit readiness during client visits or inspections.
    • Liaise with internal auditors to align on audit findings, methodology, and reporting timelines.
    • Engage with statutory bodies (Department of Employment and Labour, CCMA, SETAs) as required in relation to audits, disputes, or compliance submissions.
    • Support Head Office with documentation and evidence required for BBBEE verification and other external audits.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Relevant qualification in Labour Law, HR Management, Risk Management, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in a compliance, audit, and IR role.
    • Knowledge of labour legislation, TES industry compliance requirements, and POPIA.
    • Proven experience conducting audits or compliance verification across multiple sites/regions.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong administration skills with high attention to detail.
    • Valid driver’s licence.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and TES-specific compliance obligations.
    • Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk assessment, and corrective action planning
    • Working knowledge of POPIA and data governance principles.
    • Sound judgement and decision-making ability, particularly under audit pressure or tight deadlines.
