Content Curator at Learning Sandbox

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a content curator who will be responsible for curating digital content from a variety of educational content sources and support Subject Matter Experts on the team in ensuring that the uploaded content meets the standards of our web platform.You will report directly to the Head of Content Curation, and will work as part of a larger remote team. For this position, we expect you to be a tech-savvy professional with a keen eye for detail. You should be methodical, and have excellent time management skills. Since much of the content is science-related, a science background or experience in science education is advantageous. Experience with blog writing, science communication or social media is advantageous (but not necessary). Problem-solving and communication skills are essential. Some familiarity with HTML or basic coding is important.

Responsibilities:

• Create metadata for digital assets.
• Develop and document best practices for digital content curation.
• Liaise with collaborators regarding onboarding of assets onto the LabXchange platform (www.labxchange.org).
• Create sample assets for potential collaborators.
• Act proactively to resolve issues around curation and seek opportunities for improvement of workflows.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience in a digital work environment.
• Hands-on experience with project management software, like Trello or Asana.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Degree in a relevant field preferable.
• Preferably one year in a similar role
• Must be eligible for employment in South Africa.
