Duties and Responsibilities    
Drive manufacturing technology        

• Provide technological support and mentoring to all relevant parties        
• Provide support to or lead projects, trials, root cause analysis (RCA) and modifications        
• Coordinate training and development of production staff relating to continuous improvements to ensure alignment and focus.
• Compile and apply best practices in the execution of continuous improvement        
• Drive and monitor efficiencies, reduce losses, optimize planning to reduce downtime, optimize and improve system performance.

Oversee manufacturing project implementation        

• Support production projects at branch level including trials and modifications        
• Coordinate, monitor and assist with product/process improvement activities        
• Support the modifications, governance and implementation activities, assisting in achieving the deliverables committed to in the application.        
• Identify, standardize and implement tools & techniques to ensure effective manufacturing        
• Participate in project implementation as part of the handover to the plant.
• Contribute to the block flow diagrams applied correctly and implement correctly on the manufacturing floor        

Conduct productivity related fault finding/problem solving process        

• Lead and coordinate the fault-finding process for allocated incidents/deviations to ensure continuous improvement, by putting procedures in place to prevent recurrences.        
• Ensure all role-players are involved & kept up to date with respect to fault-finding exercises        
• Document and communicate all findings, recommendations, lessons learned etc. with relevant stakeholders
• Report on deviations e.g. root cause analysis and corrective actions, provide feedback to the rest of the stakeholders with specific reference to all incidents/deviations  
• Act as the problem-solving champion for the sites        

Assist with internal technology related manufacturing audits        

• Ensure internal audit protocol/methodology regarding internal technology plant audits are performed        
• Follow up on audit findings and monitor the implementation of corrective action
• Liaise with other stakeholders (eg. PT&T, Quality etc.) in performing capacity audits (OEE, etc.), CI reviews and losses reviews        

Focus and improve productivity management        

• Ensure equipment productivity improvement e.g. improve equipment Overall Equipment Efficiencies'        
• Ensure that all planned and unplanned activities are correctly categorized in the productivity system        
• Verify that the critical production documentation for the manufacturing processes is applicable.        
• Ensure that equipment configurations are correctly configured in the productivity system        
• Perform productivity analytics and reporting        

Focus on the continuous improvement in production        

• Assist in improving the loss factors in the Bill of Material (BOM's)        
• Identify and document continuous improvement projects (maintained on the production Share Point site)        
• Ensure the diligent implementation of continuous improvement initiatives        
• Communicate and report back on the execution progress of continuous improvement initiatives        
• Contribute to the compilation of strategic themes like energy, water, utilities etc.
