Contribution Coordinator at MultiChoice

Key Performance Objectives

Signal Management

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing feeds via satellite and terrestrial fiber links.
• Check and maintain technical requirements with local and international Host Broadcasters and link providers.
• Correct audio and video defects that don’t meet technical broadcast standards.
• Perform switching coordination duties for broadcast tie[1]lines for both Randburg and Samrand Playout Operations.
• Manage traffic flow and signal configurations to / from synchronizers, up-down convertors and identify audio and video defects.
• Operate both manual and automated routing via routing switcher panels.
• Follow operational instructions as per standard operation procedure with relevant escalations.
• In the absence of an Ingest operator, all ingest functions are to be performed by the Contribution coordinator.
• Establish and maintain voice communication circuits.
• Generate technical reports during shifts.
• Control signals to suit content archive workflows and edit process.

Operational Delivery

• Plan and coordinate contribution and ingest workflows.
• Plan technical resources for feeds on shift and populate the ICR Dashboard scheduling system accordingly.
• Plan and manage traffic flow per feed requirements.
• Use switching software to control and plan routing of external contribution lines.
• Communicate with all relevant stakeholders prior to and during transmission.
• Ensure that shift handover processes support feed delivery and ingest objectives on shift.
• Check and maintain technical requirements with internal production areas.
• Execution of instructions and requests to fulfil the client’s requirements.
• Communicate with all relevant internal and external parties prior and during transmissions.
• Check and maintain technical quality of ingested content.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)

Experience

• 3-5 years’ experience in the television broadcasting industry.
• Knowledge of systems in the television broadcasting industry.
