Control Technical Assistant - Department of Biochemistry, Genetics and Microbiology - Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Organising, developing and presenting practicals in genetics at undergraduate level in collaboration with the academic personnel;
• The academic administration and logistical coordination of undergraduate modules; including marking of assignments, tests and examinations and administration of the marks, as well as liaising with the registered students.
• Coordinating activities of the assigned tutors/demonstrators;
• Research support by assisting with financial and research administration;
• Actively contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the Division of Genetics (and the Dept of BGM) by inter alia overseeing the general maintenance of facilities and equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Honours degree with specialisation in Genetics (NQF level 8) or a closely related field;
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in academic administration of undergraduate modules, as well as in developing and presenting practicals/tutorials at tertiary level;
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience in a research environment.
