Controller Production PMR at Sibanye-Stillwater

Job Purpose:

• To operate and monitor plant processes and activities within the assigned area to ensure safe, quality, reliable and cost-effective production

Minimum Required Qualification:

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults) with Maths and Science and literacy in English, NQF 5 (Higher Certificate) in chemical or metallurgical engineering will is advantageous.

The Appointee should:

• NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent) with Maths and Science
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Senior Operator within a processing production environment
• Internal applicants for the relevant plant with at least 5 years’ experience that is not in possession of maths and/or Science will be considered. Such applicants must be English literate
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Clear security screening record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable)

Additional Requirements:

• Mineral Processing / Metal Production NQF level 2 qualification (6 months) will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations  Adhere to standard operating procedures and work schedules.  Operation and monitoring of plant processes.  Identification and reporting of defects.  Initiate maintenance requests.  Work towards the achievement of production targets.  Participate in mitigation of operational risks and threats.  Monitor equipment and machinery performance.  Assist with the handling of materials.  Assist during breakdowns and emergencies.  Active participation in all mission directed work team activities and initiatives.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Quality  Adherence to quality standards and procedures.  Perform activities according to best practice.  Identification and reporting of process variations and equipment / defects.  Operate processes consistent with product specifications.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• Stakeholder Relations  Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.  Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable. Financial Management Cost Savings:  Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives. Building a values-based organisational culture  Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance  Align to international responsible mining principles.  SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).  SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. SHE Compliance  Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.  Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.  Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.  Conduct Safe Behavioural Observations.  Participate in the application of Fatal Risk Protocols.  Participate in the conduction of planned tasks observations. SHE Management:  Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department.  Participate in regional/local bodies and decision-making forums in the process developing a business relevant external environment, that will result in the longer-term sustainability of the Division.
