Cook- Pretoria at Empact Group

Main purpose of the role:

• The incumbent will be responsible for meal preparation of food & daily kitchen production. Must provide good quality food service, working hand in hand with chefs. Must be able to read recipes, follow menu planning, and understanding HSE.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Cook
• Working in contract catering environment is advantageous
• Food and Beverage or Culinary arts qualification (Advantageous)
• Matric
• Knowledge, Skills and Competence:
• Knife handling skills
• Must understand flavour profiles
• Kitchen experience
• Heat and portion control
• Understanding of food safety
• Good communication skills

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen by producing and presenting food of the highest quality
• Supporting the kitchen team with general duties.
• Reporting any hazardous obstacles
• Apply health, Safety and environment standards (HSE)
• Reporting to Unit Manager or senior on site
