    Corporate Action Officer

    A role you will love

    • The Corporate Action Outsourcing team is responsible for the processing of all corporate action events, dividends, letters of rep and proxies for various stockbrokers within the required timeframes and according to Directive FL of the JSE rules and regulations.
    • The Corporate Action Officer requires a good understanding of work routines and procedures used to support and administer back-office stockbroking activities. The role will operate within defined technical and operational procedures, which require proficient knowledge and awareness on how to apply them. 5 years stock broking experience, corporate action knowledge
    • The corporate action Officer requires a good understanding of how the market operates under the corporate action banner,
    • The Corporate Action Officer role, may involve  undertaking a mentoring role to the rest of the corporate Action team.
    • The role requires attention to detail and some evaluative judgment based on best practice and previous experience.   The role holder is expected to respond to and resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience, which will be guided by clear policy and procedure.
    • The Corporate Action Officer role will have a direct impact on the delivery of our agreed service levels with our customers. The quality of service provided will reflect on the effectiveness of the role holder, team and department. The role holder will be required to co-ordinate and self-manage an assigned quota of client enquiries, ensuring that quality standards and time constraints are continuously delivered to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer corporate action activities
    • Reconciliation of Corporate action accounts
    • Maintain client base
    • Manage controls and procedures

    What will you bring to the role? 

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Matric or equivalent
    • Business Sense
    • Knowledge of Financial Services Industry
    • Understand & apply company strategy
    • +- 2 Years Equity Settlement experience
    • Corporate actions knowledge
    • Broker back office/ custodial Experience

    A Skills & Knowledge Required:

    • Developed Verbal and/or Written Communication skills
    • Require Tact and Diplomacy
    • Problem Solving skills
    • Attention to detail & deadline driven
    • Knowledge of the Back-office environment
