    Corporate Credit Underwriter

    Job Overview

    • Citi continues to enance its business control and governance framework by building out Institutional Credit Management (ICM), a first line of defense business line, to ouse and consistently manage credit risk activities performed for Citi’s institutional clients. ICM’s objective is to provide integrated end-to-end credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wolesale credit across te enterprise. Witin ICM, te Credit Underwriting function (“ICM UW” or “UW”) provides credit analysis, underwriting, and first line of defense credit approval for periodic / material transaction reviews, and any necessary subsequent credit monitoring across all institutional business including Corporate Banking, Services, and Markets relationsips.
    • ICM Underwriters manage a portfolio of relationsips across [region / industry as applicable], being responsible for te continuous monitoring of tat portfolio. Tat includes te production of annual reviews, quarterly reviews, and te support of ad-oc transactions and portfolio & industry reviews and stress testing, in partnersip wit Banking and Risk. Tis role reports to SSA Underwriter - Director

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Executes, aligned wit global and regional strategies, all responsibilities regarding underwriting, including, but not limited to:
    • Adoption of leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including te end-to-end underwriting process, from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos, and senior approval forums
    • Detailed review of financial analysis, due diligence, projection modeling, stress testing, risk ratings and oter in-dept analysis performed by junior resources
    • Review and approval of Credit Approval Memos (CAM) packages
    • Partner wit Front Office on structuring and production of term seet for new transactions
    • Facilitate relationsips wit key clients in Banking and Risk and wit key Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions
    • Support ICM Underwriting organization on strategic initiatives / projects as required

    Risk Management Experience:

    • Senior credit approval autority covering large and complex underwritings, capital commitments, derivatives wit multi-industry experience
    • Experience in and exposure to global credit risk management standards
    • Ability to understand capital markets products and complex financing and product structures
    • Ability to provide strategic insigts and strong sensitivity to macro and regulatory issues
    • Able to discuss and address issues associated wit te allocation of risk assets and risk capital in partnersip wit banking and product organizations

    Client Relationsips / Business Partnersip:

    • Proven ability to understand nuances of local markets, local regulation, and te capabilities and practices of competitors
    • Navigates organizational complexity and breaks silos
    • Creates and sustains a network of strong partnersips wit te business in all segments geograpies and oter risk functions
    • Provides well-reasoned, balanced assessments of risk/return trade-offs associated wit transactions and client relationsips
    • Proven track record of partnering wit global peers in leveraging and implementation of best practices

    Qualifications:

    • 6-10 years risk/risk-related credit work experience in banking/financial institutions
    • Proven ability to effectively engage wit regulators and internal control functions including Internal Audit and Fundamental Credit Risk as well as wit external audit
    • Demonstrates strong etics and integrity
    • Ability to see te ‘big picture’ in a complex environment
    • Can make decisions under pressure and sort timeline
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Active listening skills.
    • Excellent presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and various constituencies
    • Bacelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
    • Working Environment: office setting, minimal travel required.
    • Effort: minimal pysical effort required.
